OPENING (2024)

Over three performance days, the Theaterplatz in Weimar, a place steeped in the history of democracy and dictatorship, from Goethe and Schiller to Buchenwald, will be transformed into a stage. 

Choreographed by Mirjam Gurtner, six dancers engage with the historical environment in a performance that embodies interaction and adaptability. The dancers instantly create their movements, composing thus their dance amidst the audiences while allowing stories to unfold. The performance is accompanied by music from Carl Orffs Carmina Burana, deconstructed by Ashley Alexandra Wright.

FORWARD DANCE COMPANY will present an adaptation of SULLE SPONDE DEL LAGO – ON THE SHORES OF THE LAKE at the opening of the German Pavilion at the 18^th international architecture exhibition La Biennale di Venezia on May 19, 2023.
