THE FORWARD DANCE COMPANY OFFERS A GLIMPSE INTO ITS NEW PRODUCTION AT TANZ | MODERNE | TANZ IN CHEMNITZ

As part of TANZ | MODERNE | TANZ, the FORWARD DANCE COMPANY will offer a glimpse into its new production, SEAT OF POWER. Choreographed by Ofra Idel of MASH DANCE HOUSE Jerusalem, the piece is a dance exploration of the tension between power, responsibility, and community. The preview will take place on September 18 at 8:00 p.m.

The Forward Dance Company presents its work at the Pitching Session Saxony

As part of Tanzplattform Deutschland 2026, FORWARD DANCE COMPANY will participate in the Pitching Session Saxony, organized by villa \wigman, TanzNetzDresden, and Societaetstheater Dresden. The event invites dance professionals from Saxony to present their work to an international audience of experts in a 15-minute pitch.

At the Pitching Session Saxony, the company will provide insights into its artistic work and present its vision of a diverse understanding of dance to an international audience.

WORKSHOP FOR DANCERS WITH NON-NORMATISABLE PHYSICALITIES

FDC would like to meet dancers with non-standardised physicalities. We'd like to invite you for a four-day workshop from 17 to 20 November 17th to 20th 2025 if:

  • The norms of traditional dance training are not applicable to your body.
  • You have already worked as a professional dancer or have evidence of working for a longer period in a semi-professional dance group.

Within the diversity of accessibility needs and realities, our focus is set on exploring different physicalities and their movements.

OPENING (2024)

Over three performance days, the Theaterplatz in Weimar, a place steeped in the history of democracy and dictatorship, from Goethe and Schiller to Buchenwald, will be transformed into a stage. 

Choreographed by Mirjam Gurtner, six dancers engage with the historical environment in a performance that embodies interaction and adaptability. The dancers instantly create their movements, composing thus their dance amidst the audiences while allowing stories to unfold. The performance is accompanied by music from Carl Orffs Carmina Burana, deconstructed by Ashley Alexandra Wright. 

FORWARD DANCE COMPANY TO PERFORM AT THE OPENING OF THE GERMAN PAVILION AT THE VENICE ARCHITECTURE BIENNALE

FORWARD DANCE COMPANY will present an adaptation of SULLE SPONDE DEL LAGO – ON THE SHORES OF THE LAKE at the opening of the German Pavilion at the 18th international architecture exhibition La Biennale di Venezia on May 19, 2023.
