First production of FORWARD DANCE COMPANY

WIR | WE dives into the inner worlds of the six performers, all with different backgrounds.

WIR | WE is an explorative journey into the physical and mental changes that take place when humans are disconnected from the outside world for a seemingly unlimited period of time. Each of them is on their own. Paradoxically, their common destiny is segregation. They exist in the limbo of disrupted routines, while trying to assert their personal desires and ambitions. The longing for love, the desire for recognition and the need for touch isolate the person step-by-step. Confronted with themselves, their desires, fears, struggles and fantasies waltz and evolve, while each dancer individually longs for a more promising and hopeful future.

What do longings say about us? And what can we say about the state of this world and the desire for one another? In WIR | WE, FORWARD DANCE COMPANY, under the choreographic direction of Nir de Volff, addresses this diffuse state and tries to make sense of the situation – in a place between somewhere and nowhere.

FORWARD DANCE COMPANY is the in-house dance company of LOFFT – DAS THEATER, an independent production house in Leipzig.
